Alex Rider
Alex Rider is a 14 year-old British schoolboy. After his uncle’s death, he was forced into the spy business by MI6. He is surprisingly smart, and able to handle difficult and extreme situations. He is very independent and able to use his surroundings and items at his disposal to his advantage. He is about 5’7”, and weighs about 120 pounds. He is in top physical condition, has extreme athletic ability, and is good-looking. He has many talents, from martial arts to pickpocketing, and speaks several languages. He learned most of this from his uncle, who was training Alex to be a spy through various activities without Alex knowing it. In the novel, Alex is the main protagonist and the one who is sent to discover Sayle’s plans.

Characters
Alan Blunt
Alan Blunt is the head of MI6. He is a middle-aged man. He is very unemotional, yet dedicated to his is job. He is cold, ruthless, and ready to write off any of his agents if he thinks that they stand no chance at surviving. He is very calculating and smart. In the novel, Blunt is the one who orders Alex to spy on Sayle.

Herrod Sayle
Herod Sayle is the main antagonist in the novel. On the surface, Sayle seems like a generous, good-natured businessman who is always willing to give something back to society. In reality, he hates everyone in Great Britain, because as a child, he was teased and bullied relentlessly in school. He plotted for years against the UK and is now ready to take revenge…

Yassen Gregorovich
Yassen Gregorovich is one of the world’s best contract killers. He was hired by Sayle’s sponsors to oversee work inside the facility. He is of Russian origin, and is in his mid-30s. In the novel, he killed Ian Rider.

Mr.Grin
His original name was Sean Green and he worked in a knife-throwing act in the circus. An accident lost him his tongue, and gave him two scars that give him the appearance of smiling, thus the name “Mr. Grin.” Ever since then, he has become an assistant to Herod Sayle. He is skilled in martial arts and the use of weapons, especially knives. Even though he cannot talk, he is intelligent, and incredibly quick. In the novel, he helps Herod Sayle in his plans.
